White sage is a beautiful spreading perennial that provides a lovely silvery color and soft texture to offset your more colorful garden denizens. This fellow lives in slight depressions on our dry hillsides, meaning it can make do with just slightly more than the scant rainfall that we usually get in the late summer. It's a relatively quick grower that will happily fill your empty spaces.

White sage does well in full sun or partial shade, and looks particularly nice with bunchgrasses, wild bergamot, twin arnica, sticky geranium, sulphur buckwheat, slender cinquefoil, and field chickweed (plus, these species naturally occur together). It does spread, so give it room!
