Nursery Hours
Pipilo is a private nursery (for now) and therefore we are not open to the public. We are in the process of setting up at our new Charlo location. We plan to open to the public in sometime this year! Meanwhile, peruse and order plants online (it's actually a really great way to pick out things that will work for your space).
Delivery and Payment
We deliver for free to a location in the Rattlesnake (Missoula) where you can pick your order up at your convenience. There is no minimum order for that service and we drop orders off once or twice a week. We will deliver within 150 miles of Missoula for a fee. Contact us for current rates.
We will contact you following your order to finalize pick-up details. Payment for orders is due at time of delivery or pickup. We accept cash, local checks, and most major cards.
We do not ship plants at this time. If you aren't from western Montana, do a search for native plant nurseries in your area!
Other Services
In addition to nursery production, we offer services for research, small-scale restoration, and landscaping projects. We specialize in sourcing and growing ecotypes specific to your project. Please contact us for additional information.

Contract Growing
Contract growing is available for small restoration and landscaping projects. We also grow plugs for research projects, with special attention on uniform lot production. Growing time depends on species and size, but most plants need at least a growing season to mature. Contact us early in the planning process!

Seed Collection
Local seed collection is crucial for maintaining genetic integrity in your restoration and research projects. We plan the logistics and timing of all collections, and clean the seed as required. Because seed collection falls in narrow windows each year, one year of lead time is generally required for these services. Seed can also be grown out if desired.

Site Assessment
If you aren't sure what would do best at your site, we will come have a look and provide you with a list of plants that will succeed, highlighting micro-sites, potential trouble areas, and weeds to be wary of.
Building? We are happy to provide your landscaper with a list of suitable plants for your lot.
