Thimbleberry adds a cool rainforest feel with giant leaves (up to dinner plate size) and edible fruit. Delicate red berries are delicious fresh-picked. This species appreciates moderate water, making it a good border for irrigated lawn. The more water, the sunnier you can go, but this species does best with at least afternoon shade. Plant with nettle-leaf giant hyssop, fireweed, and sneezeweed for layers of thick foliage and plenty of color.
