Shaggy fleabane is a delightful unruly-looking daisy with fuzzy light green foliage and tousled purple to pink disc-shaped flowers. Its natural habitat is dry grassland, and therefore it will thrive in any sunny well-drained site. Like many other prairie plants, it will continue to bloom in little bursts as long as it has some water. In the wild shaggy fleabane grows alongside blanket flower and yarrow.
Don't let it flower the first year (just cut the stalks). This will allow it to establish and prevent it from depleting all its energy making flowers.
