You can't go wrong adding wilcox penstemon to your garden lineup. Tall stems covered in blue and purple tube-shaped flowers lure in passing bees, while the low-growing evergreen leaves with maroon undersides nestle neatly around rocks and between other plants. Wilcox penstemon will grow taller with some light shade, but don't be afraid to put it in full sun. Once established it is incredibly drought tolerant, and is a good choice for steep dry slopes. Plant in groups of three or more for best effect.
