Smallflower penstemon is a garden superstar that attracts absurd numbers of native pollinators with dense clusters of deep purple flowers while dark evergreen leaves provide year-round interest. It tolerates a wide variety of light and soil conditions, including dry partial shade. This penstemon is shorter and bushier than wilcox penstemon, and looks lovely with sticky geranium, slender cinquefoil, alumroot, and pinegrass.
