Woolly groundsel is a cushion plant, meaning it grows in a tight little clump to survive harsh living on windswept bare ridges. Bright yellow flowers contrast nicely with silvery leaves. The short stature makes it ideal for sunny rock gardens, especially alongside fuzzy-tongue penstemon, cutleaf daisy, and cushion buckwheat.
