This tall evening primrose sports delicate yellow flowers that open in the evening and close in the morning. While that might not make them the showiest plant in the garden, nocturnal pollinators such as moths will appreciate the food source. The unique cannon barrel seed heads provide winter interest. This plant will tend to spread if it's over-irrigated, so plant in a dry spot, perhaps with sticky geranium, smallflower penstemon, and beebalm.
