Alumroot is a garden necessity. It has it all - neat, compact evergreen foliage, tall pollinator-attracting flowers, and deep roots that mean watering (post-establishment) and fertilizing aren't necessary. Versatile, these perennials colonize sun-soaked rocky outcroppings, grassland, and dry forest understory. You may have seen similar plants (Heuchera or coral bells with endless cultivars) at big box garden centers. Ours are wildtype, grown from seeds collected on Mt. Sentinel, Mt. Jumbo, and up the Rattlesnake, so you know they are perfectly adapted for our climate.
