Just to get the obvious out of the way: don't eat deathcamas. It is extremely poisonous. Never eat any plant you can't positively identify! Never!
Deathcamas is a lovely lily relative with slender leaves and a profusion of white flowers that are slightly reminiscent of beargrass. They are numerous in our area in late spring, dotting meadows still moist from snowmelt. They are ephemeral, meaning they go completely underground during the summer, but they'll reappear the following spring bigger and better than ever.
Plant with twin arnica and shooting star for a lovely spring display, and add some summer bloomers like blanketflower and yarrow for a continous round of flowers.
